Hello everyone in Colorado!!!!!  Today it is cloudy and rainy in Alaska but it is still very pretty.  Last night we did an amazing hike where we could see for miles. We’ll post pictures later.  The people at the church are very welcoming and helpful.  Hope, Hannah and I went to Joanna’s

Finally got a shower! Probably my favorite day so far, just because of that. That’s not true, but you get the point. We all split into groups and went to some community members’ houses… but our person didn’t answer the door. Then Makenzie, Karli, my mom and I walked back to the church and showered at pastor’s house and got our first glimpse of the Olympics! This morning we got to go to church and it was amazing! Its so different from what we’re used to, but definitely in a good way. I was on dinner crew, which brought back some pretty great memories(MMMMM! Cigarette ashes!) Ya, we’re that great of cooks. Tonight is Singspiration, so pretty much the karaoke night of the island. We have to perform a vbs song, and Raelynn, Hannah, Hope, Makenzie and I had to teach everyone. Hope we don’t epically fail!~Jill

YAY!! We finally got showers today which made us all feel like we lost 5 pounds! We got to shower at the pastor’s house where there was PLENTY of hot water! We got our first look at the women’s beach volleyball Olympic games! You better be taping them for me Mom! Getting ready for Singspiration tonight where we will be performing a song from VBS for the community. Helped with breakfast crew this morning, kinda. Then helped out with dinner too! Burning noodles DO NOT smell good! J haha… Had a great worship service this morning and wish we were gonna be here next Sunday. VBS starts tomorrow and they tell us that we should be expecting 70-100 kids. More than we had expected, but still can’t wait!  Can’t believe that we’ve already been here for 4 days… It’s going by too fast!~Makenzie F.

Hi Mom Love  Alaska, Love Ian

Today we got showers! And rain, but tonight we get to sing for the church to an upbeat vbs song. Got to go do it now. Tired as monkeys brains though. So adios. -Karli O
